We LOVE teaching students at the farm. Donna has 36 years of education experience and many years in outdoor education. Your group will be the only group here and you will have our complete attention and time. We will custom plan the time that you are here. We want the trip to the farm to be an extension of your classroom, not an isolated event. The time at the farm should undergird your classroom content and create “hooks “ for students to hang information on to better access it later.

We can design a personalized field trip for your group.

But… most trips look like this:

Students arrive 9:30 - 10:00 am

20 minute - Welcome and Introduction

Students split into 3-4 groups and move through stations

Station 1: Hayride - on the hayride the students will see the entire farm and will learn about the Christmas trees and other native and non-native plants on the property. There is a stop at the compost bins to talk about resources and composting.

Station 2: Farm Zoo - students see/learn about and pet the animals in the farm zoo

Station 3: Learning Activity - planned by Donna and Teachers - can include craft or activity and restroom break.

Station 4: We are planning to add a hoop house station with our plants and hydroponics set up.

Each station will last about 20-25 minutes.

After these stations are complete the students will enjoy a picnic lunch and playtime.

The students usually leave about 130 - 2:00
